Konrad Salwi?ski


Konrad's accordion education started at the age of 7 at the State Music School in Starachowice under Marek Marecki's direction. From 1999 until 2005, he was a student at the St. Moniuszko Music School in Lodz, specialising in accordion with prof. Zbigniew Ignaczewski. In 2011 he graduated from The Academy of Music in Lodz in prof. Z. Ignaczewski's class. He is also studying at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz with direction from prof. Janne Rättyä.

He is a prize-winner of many national and international competitions:

- III prize in International Accordion Competition in Poprad (Slovakia), 1999, soloists category;

- V place in International Accordion Competition in Klingenthal (Germany), 2000, soloists category;

- I prize and „Absolute Winner” title in International Accordion Competition in Dunajska Streda (Slovakia) 2000;

- V place in International Accordion Competition in Castelfidardo (Italy), 2000, soloists category;

- I prize in International Accordion Competition in Poprad (Slovakia), 2001, soloists category;

- II prize in International Accordion Competition in Vilnius (Lithuania), 2002, soloists category;

- II prize in International Accordion Festival in Przemy?l (Poland), 2003, soloists category;

- III prize in VI International Accordion Competition „Sanok 2004”, soloists category;

- I prize International Accordion Festival in Przemy?l (Poland), 2004, soloists category;

- I prize in 32. International Accordion Competition in Pula (Croatia), 2007, chamber music category;

- I prize in soloists category and I prize in chamber music category in International Accordion Competition in Moravskie Toplice (Slovenia), 2007;

Konrad has taken part in many editions of International Course of Music Interpretation. In 1998, his musical achievements led to him being awarded the President of Starachowice City Prize. In 2000, 2006, and 2008, he was grant-holder of the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage's “Young Poland” initiative and, also in 2008 and 2011, scholar of Lodz Voivodship Marchal. He often performs in the Lodz area, in Starachowice and in other cities in Poland and around the world.
